Warehouse Operative
INDUSTRIES: Retail/Warehouse
LOCATION: Oakham/Melton
SALARY: £20000 - £24000 + Overtime
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent
HOURS: 0800-1730 - 45 Hours Per week (5 days a week to include one alternate weekend day)
The COMPANY
Our client is one of the largest independent destination garden centres in the UK and is continually growing and developing in response to customer demand and market trends. They focus on offering the finest locally sourced produce, complemented by the best from national and international producers, as well as quality Beef and Lamb supplied from our own farm in the village.
They now have a team of around 200 people in a wide range of roles across Retail, Hospitality & Catering, Operations, eCommerce, Marketing and Administration. With an exciting range of new developments coming up they we are always looking for exceptional people to join the team.
The ROLE
We are currently looking for a stores assistant to join a growing team. The role is primarily warehouse based but will also include a variety of other on-site tasks in response to seasonal demand. You will work five days a week, including one alternating weekend day.
Duties
*Warehouse inventory
*Picking items with a high degree of accuracy
*Using a computer to book items for dispatch
*Liaising with couriers in order that items are packaged correctly
*Loading and unloading of deliveries safely
*A physical approach to handling items
*Maintaining good housekeeping standards in the warehouse
*Working as part of successful team
The CANDIDATE
*Warehouse experience desirable but not essential
*Experience in working with couriers and dispatch procedures
*Forklift experience desirable
*Basic computer skills
*Attention to detail and takes pride in their work
*Flexible approach to working
*Great customer service skills
*A positive approach to working both independently and as part of a team
*Clean UK driving license
*Smart personal appearance
