Senior Buyer
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: 3 years plus
INDUSTRIES: Manufacturing, Automotive Preferred
EDUCATION: CIPS desirable or working towards
LOCATION: Coventry
SALARY: £32,000-£38,000
HOURS: 8.00am - 5pm Mon to Fri
The COMPANY
Our client is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of cleaning products, including cleaning cloths, impregnated wipes, flow packs and trigger spray chemicals.
The ROLE
To Purchase goods, materials and services to ensure the company's operational needs are met. Taking into account price, quality, delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.
Key responsibilities
*Purchase goods materials, components in line with specified costs, quality and delivery targets
*Support purchasing function and other relevant departments with purchasing processes and new projects
*Act as the main interface between suppliers and other relevant departments
*Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
*Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers
*Work closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement
The CANDIDATE
Our client is looking for strong procurement applicants with the following experience:
*CIPS Qualification or studying towards
*Previous experience in a purchasing team, preferably in manufacturing or automotive
*Degree or other higher education desirable but not essential
*Experience of a buyer's role for 3 years plus.
*Knowledge of MS Excel Word, Sage Line 50/Sage Manufacturing beneficial
*Team player as working closely with Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager, Production Manager
*Good negotiating skills
