Datacentre Technical Lead
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £50,000
Contract Type: Permanent

The COMPANY
Our client is a renowned IT services provider. They have been established for over 25 years and have a user base of over 3000. They offer managed services packages to fulfil a wide range of service level requirements including data backup, hosting and disaster recovery. Our client are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Datacentre and Cloud Technical Lead to join their dynamic team.
The ROLE
The successful IT Cloud Technical Lead candidate will be required to do the following:
* Play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining a datacentre and cloud infrastructure.
* Evaluate, recommend, and implement best practices for infrastructure scalability, reliability, and security.
* Mentor and coach a team of engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
* Oversee the management of cloud resources, including provisioning, monitoring, and cost optimisation.
* Manage and optimise hosted platforms for their applications and services, ensuring high availability and performance.
* Implement and maintain Veeam backup and replication solutions for data protection.
* Develop and test Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) strategies to ensure business continuity.
* Configure and maintain Cisco networking equipment to ensure a robust and secure network infrastructure.
* Evaluate and negotiate contracts with cloud service providers and datacentre vendors.
The CANDIDATE
Our client is looking for Data Centre Lead candidates with the following experience:
* Proven experience in designing and managing datacentre and cloud environments.
* Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
* Strong background in Vmware / vSAN
* In-depth knowledge of virtualisation, containerisation, and orchestration technologies.
* Detailed knowledge with networking, including Cisco equipment and BGP.
* Experience with hosted platforms, Veeam backup and replication, DRaaS, and automation tools.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., VMWare, Veeam, Cisco CCNA/CCNP) are an advantage.
