Structural Engineer - Steel
The COMPANY
Our client is recognised as a Global leader in the manufacture and sale/hire of mainly steel bridge, pontoon and RoRo's - solutions that are trusted by designers & contractors throughout the building/civil's industry. Their range of modular bridging solutions has a myriad of other applications including military, marine and ports. Well into a fifth decade our client has earned a deserved reputation for the quality of both their product and service.
The ROLE
They now require a talented and experienced Structural Engineer/Design Engineer to design carry out structural calculations for projects throughout Europe for the most trusted name in the industry.
As a senior member of a small team, working from the Office 2 or 3 days a week, this is an incredibly diverse and challenging role The minutia of the role includes;
* Structural calculations for a variety of steel bridge projects.
* Design customized modular steel bridge.
* Provide technical advice & support to Sales Managers, Project Managers and clients.
* Give on-site support for technical complex installations.
* Be the interface between clients, internal project management and the international Engineering team.
* Utilising the following software:
o Calculation software (PTC MathCAD)
o 3D-FEM software (RFEM)
o CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor)
o MS-office applications (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel)
o PLM software (PTC Windchill)
The CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will be a talented Structural Engineer with the following skills and experience;
* Experience in structural steel or bridges.
* Knowledge of relevant Eurocodes/design codes.
* Good academic background.
* Be familiar with the software packages.
It is essential that you have the desire to assume responsibility and help a well-established organisation grow.
