IT Field Service Engineer
JOB SUMMARY: To operate as the IT Manager for 10 to 15 clients, delivering technical support and fixes, alongside planning and implementing the optimum use of technology for their business.
LOCATION: Swindon
SALARY: £35,000 - 45,000 + car
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent
MUST HAVES: Previous experience as an IT Field Service Engineer preferably for an outsourced IT company with a multitude of clients.
The COMPANY
Our client is has a network of local IT support offices staffed by experienced business and technical specialists. They offer a proactive and bespoke service includes a mix of onsite visits and unlimited helpdesk support that give your users the help they need; whether it's fully outsourced IT support or supplementary help for an in-house team
The ROLE
The successful IT Field Service Engineer will be required to:
*Carry out preventative checks and maintenance to ensure optimum performance of the clients systems.
*Deliver fixes to priority issues that cannot be resolved by the Helpdesk during on- site visits.
*Provide briefing / handover of all projects to the Helpdesk.
*Use questioning during visits and review meetings to develop a detailed insight into the client business and priorities.
*Create and review an IT roadmap for each client that provides an overview of future activity, the days required to deliver it and further products and services that will be of value.
*Manage quarterly review meetings with all clients, carrying out the necessary preparation and follow up of actions.
*Build trusted relationships with key identified stakeholders in each of your clients and with as many other client members.
*Present the value of additional products, services and days on-site as part review meetings, contract day meetings and using the roadmap where appropriate.
*Write proposals for products, services, projects, contract changes to communicate the value for the client, and adhere to branding and quality sign off processes.
*Ask for referrals on all client visits / review meetings.
*Create visits reports and update technical documentation after each site visit and provide to client.
The CANDIDATE
Our client is looking for a strong IT Field Service Engineer applicant with the following experience:
*Minimum 12 months in a field technical support role and 6 years in IT support.
*Minimum 4 MCP's.
*VMWare VCP.
*Veeam trained / qualified.
*Hyper V trained / qualified.
*Citrix trained / qualified.
*Installation and support of VMWare / Hyper V clustering.
*Configure and support SAN's.
*Cisco knowledge / experience
*Advanced troubleshooting of Microsoft server hardware and software including Exchange
*Firewalls, Antivirus and Backup expertise - installation and advanced troubleshooting skills
*Comprehensive networking skills
*Business case / proposal preparation and report writing
*Managing a client meeting
*Commercially astute with very basic selling / influencing skills
*A great and willing communicator verbally and written
*Able to define an IT strategy / plan for a client
*A full clean driving licence
