Infrastructure Support Analyst
JOB SUMMARY: To be the Infrastructure Support Analyst, providing support and management of the core IT infrastructure for one of a client based at their offices in Bedfordshire
LOCATION: Milton Keynes
SALARY: Up to £35,000
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent
The COMPANY
Our client is has a network of local IT support offices staffed by experienced business and technical specialists. They offer a proactive and bespoke service includes a mix of onsite visits and unlimited helpdesk support that give your users the help they need; whether it's fully outsourced IT support or supplementary help for an in-house team.
The ROLE
The Infrastructure Support Analyst will be required to fulfil the following duties:
*Being the Infrastructure Support Analyst for a client based at their offices in Woburn.
*Managing the IT environment for a diverse range of businesses from retail, to hotels to property management.
*Working alongside the client's IT team to ensure that the IT infrastructure is managed, monitored and maintained providing the maximum uptime.
*Managing a more junior support analyst (IT Apprentice) to provide 1st and 2nd line support.
*Reviewing, recommending and implementing projects to improve the client's infrastructure.
*Managing projects from proposal writing to sign-off, implementation and technical handover to the Helpdesk and Client.
*Writing in good English persuasive reports/proposals and gaining buy-in and sign-off for them
*Providing immediate support on-site for business critical servers, networking and applications
*Creating and updating the IT roadmap, budget, documentation and reporting constantly
*Interacting daily with the IT Manager and Helpdesk about the client and helping out your Helpdesk colleagues with problem solving
*Manage existing and future IT projects. Current projects include backup and disaster recovery, Group Policy overhaul, storage project and more.
*Supporting and managing a range of Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) systems
*Visiting the different businesses and locations in the group.
*Through questioning, researching and listening, develop a detailed insight into the client's up-to-date businesses and hold regular client meetings and on-going intelligence gathering
*Daily line management of an IT apprentice resource including regular 1 to 1's and Personal Development Reviews.
*Identify, recommend and gain commitment for new products and solutions that meet the clients' business requirements by demonstrating the value they will deliver.
*Write persuasive, business cases and professional proposals to support your recommendations
The CANDIDATE
Our client is looking for a strong Infrastructure Support Analyst applicant with the following experience:
*3+ years' experience of exposure to many different environments and platforms
*People management / team lead experience
*Microsoft Server Operating Systems installation and support
*Microsoft Exchange installation and support
*VMware ESXi 5.0+ installation and support
*Switch installation, configuration and troubleshooting
*Experience with firewall setup and management
*Experience with a variety of backup technologies and methods
*Proposal and business case and report writing
*A previous Client/Customer-facing or in-house IT role and demonstrable evidence that you thrived on this
*At least an awareness of virtualisation technologies
*Technically competent across multiple platforms/environments
*A great and willing communicator
*A full clean driving licence
*A previous field or in-house IT role
*Server, networking, exchange, peripherals and licensing exposure to installation, configuration and support
