Designer - Modular/Temporary Works - Construction

Salary: £40K - £45K Salary & Package Depending on Experience

Location: Mansfield/Chesterfield Area

Our client is recognised as a Global leader in the manufacture and sale/hire of bridge, pontoon and RoRo's - solutions that are trusted by designers & contractors throughout the building/civil's industry. Their range of modular bridging solutions has a myriad of other applications including military, marine and ports. Well into a fifth decade our client has earned a deserved reputation for the quality of both their product and service.

The ROLE

Due to continued growth and, as a result of being the most trusted name in the industry, a bulging order book they now require a Temporary Works Designer/Autodesk Inventor CAD Modelling Design Engineer. This is an exciting time to join my Client as they are on the cusp of moving their depot to a significantly larger location in the Chesterfield area. This is a diverse and challenging role which has considerable strategic input in addition to the minutia of the role which includes;

*3D CAD design of c.25 installations a year ranging from £100K to £2M
*Liaising with main contractors and/or end users
*Occasional site visits to advise on installation
*Modular bridge and abutments design
*Assuming responsibility for the project

Basically it will be your task to design, using Inventor, a practical modular bridge solution to satisfy Client's requirements.

The CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with the following skills and experience;

*Civil/Structural Engineering background
*Experience of 3D CAD designing/modelling using Inventor
*Ability to perform design calculations back to first principles
*A knowledge of steel would be advantageous
*Excellent communication skills
*Can do attitude
