IT Field Service Engineer
JOB SUMMARY: To be the IT Field Service Engineer for 10 to 15 clients, providing support, guidance, planning, and technical competence that they find valuable in order to keep and grow their business
SALARY: up to £30,000 + car
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent
MUST HAVES: Previous experience as an IT Field Service Engineer.
Our client is has a network of local IT support offices staffed by experienced business and technical specialists. They offer a proactive and bespoke service includes a mix of onsite visits and unlimited helpdesk support that give your users the help they need; whether it's fully outsourced IT support or supplementary help for an in-house team
The successful IT Field Service Engineer will be required to:
*Be the IT Manager for a portfolio of 10-15 Clients
*Visit a different client for site every day and communicating with people there all day long to identify their current and future IT issues and fix them!
*Provide immediate support on-site when IT goes wrong (from printers to virtual servers)
*Create, update and review IT roadmaps, IT budgets, Tech Docs and Visit reporting constantly
*Manage projects from proposal writing to sign-off and technical handover to the Helpdesk and Client Users
*Spend a few days a month in the Office - supporting the helpdesk, and planning your longer-term client support activity.
*Thorough questioning, researching and listening, develop a detailed insight into the clients' up-to-date businesses and hold regular client meetings and on-going intelligence gathering
*Write persuasive, business cases and professional proposals to support your recommendations
Our client is looking for a strong IT Field Service Engineer applicant with the following experience:
*3+ yrs experience of multiple exposure to many different environments and platforms
*Microsoft Operating Systems and Server (SBS) install and configuration
*Microsoft Exchange installation and configuration
*TCP/IP and Network installation and configuration
*Firewalls, Antivirus and Backup
*Build a PC and a server
*Proposal and business case and report writing
*A previous Client/Customer-facing role and demonstrable evidence that you thrived on this
*At least an awareness of virtualisation technologies
*Technically competent across multiple platforms/environments
*A great and willing communicator who is friendly and personable
*A driver with a full clean driving licence.
