Area Sales Manager - Industrial Control Gear
Location: Manchester
Salary: Basic £38,000 - £45,000 OTE up to £60,000
MUST HAVES: Extensive knowledge of automation and control products and sales management experience.
The COMPANY
Our client is the leading suppliers of industrial control and automation products in the UK. They have secured a nationwide network of sales locations employing over 200 personnel.
The ROLE
The successful Area Sales Manager duties will include:
*Overall responsibility for the effective running of three external sales staff and the Manchester Branch Manager including direct management of the external sales team and Branch Supervisor.
*Demonstrate effective territory planning and effective management of external and internal sales resources in order to maximise customer contact.
*Planning, implementation and achievement of agreed targets for the branch.
*Produce regular reports on current status, projected branch targets and forecasting
*Oversee accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of all call plans
*Ensure that training requirements, objectives and learning opportunities are identified through the performance review process and development review meetings.
*Communicate and interface with all other branches and departments on commercial issues with a focus on continuous improvement.
*Lead by example demonstrating a proactive attitude to continuous personal development in terms of product knowledge and skills development.
*Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external suppliers
*Take responsibility for sales and profitability of own set accounts.
*Preparation of quotations, proposals and business cases
*Plan and deliver presentations on products and services to various audiences.
*Manage a ledger of circa £2.5Million+ with a defined process of "professional account management of mature accounts" to maximise potential
The CANDIDATE
Our client is looking for strong Area Sales Manager with the following experience:
*Extensive knowledge of automation and control products
*Extensive Experience in Business to Business solution selling
*Demonstrable sales management experience
*Ideally the role holder will be qualified to at least ONC level in electrical engineering
*Effective presentation skills
*Previous experience within a commercial / business to business sales environment is essential, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
*Excellent interpersonal, people management skills, reporting, day-to-day planning and analytical skills.
*A good standard of education is required, particularly in Maths & English
